Black Walnut Wood Bowl

The black walnut tree is a rare, fine-grained, hardwood native to New England.  Black walnut wood is prized for its strength, deep rich color and straight grain.  Symbolically, the black walnut tree represents wisdom, knowledge and inspiration. 

Our bowls are sustainably sourced, upcycled, and handcrafted in New England.  The black walnut nesting bowls range in size from 13” to 18”, and are a classic round shape with a clean edge. 

Dimensions:

• 13” Large Bowl (13” x 4”) - Serves 2-4 people (4 side salads or 2 full meal salads), + is the perfect fruit bowl.
• 15” Large Salad Bowl  (15” x 5”) - Serves 5-8 people (8 side-salads, 4 full-meal salads)
• 18” Extra-Large Bowl  (18” x 6”) - Serves large gatherings of 8-20 people, catering, art + décor piece

Care: Apply mineral oil once a month to maintain the natural beauty of the wood, except to products with our Driftwood, White Pearl, and Sea Glass finishes.  These bowls are made with an acrylic food safe finish and should not be oiled.

Our mineral oil has a beeswax base that adds beauty and protection from everyday wear and tear.  Beeswax conditioners help prevent wood from drying out as well as from absorbing too much moisture.

Prolonged exposure to water can cause damage; please do not submerge in water or place in the dishwasher.

Common mistakes include letting old fruit and vegetables mold at the bottom of a bowl (this may stain) and putting a bowl/board in the oven.
